The great jazz trumpeter Miles Davis once said, “Do not fear mistakes. There are none.” Today’s graduating class leaves the classroom and embarks on an especially challenging and uncharted journey. In the best of times one’s departure from the familiarity of classmates and studies presents uncertainty. The graduating class of 2020 is confronted with seemingly overwhelming challenges that will define a generation. Yet to your credit, and the support of friends, faculty and family, you have successfully reached one of many milestones in your lives. And when you look back on your college days, remember that you haven’t made mistakes. Rather you have learned how to make the right choices to lead you and your peers into a better world.
